Edward Sibunga is design director of e/lou, a furniture studio located in the municipality of Rodriguez in Rizal province. He studied industrial and product design at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, and completed a postgraduate programme in Innovative and Creative Entrepreneurship at Thames International Business School in Quezon City. In 2014, he was selected for Red Box Design Talents, a development programme for Philippine designers initiated by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions. In 2017, he won the Grand Prize in the A Chair + More Furniture competition at the Anthology Architecture and Design Festival in Manila. Then in 2019, he won a Special Award at the Rubberwood Furniture Design Competition organised by the Forest Products Research and Development Institute. In his work, Edward is driven to finding the right balance between design and functionality.
