Genevieve Ang and Georgina Foo are co-founders of Gin&G, a studio dedicated to imbuing the spaces we inhabit with beauty and meaning. Genevieve, also known as “gellyvieve”, is a creator, artist and architectural designer who believes in understanding construction through the act of making and experimenting. Currently researching how to incorporate glass waste into tile-making under the Good Design Research grant funded by DesignSingapore Council, she seeks to draw experiences from her art and ceramics practice so that her different disciplines can guide each other and form new languages along the way. Georgina, meanwhile, is an architecturally trained interior designer whose approach to design is inspired by anthropology — in particular, the study of the human condition and the cataloguing of obsessions and desires. She believes that beauty is found in the balance of boldness and restraint, and that no detail is too minute to celebrate. Gin&G is active in the fields of industrial design, residential dwellings and commercial interiors. Committed to the art of storytelling through space, the studio celebrates the uniqueness of each project through the creation of experimental artworks and design objects.
