NRU Bowl by NUS Design Incubation Centre
Yun Ru Poh, Wei Jing Tan and Cynthia Chan are three designers who have honed their skills at the National University of Singapore's (NUS) Design Incubation Centre under project leader and centre director Christophe Gaubert. Poh believes the best design starts from a small idea that slowly evolves into a story everyone can relate to. Tan is inspired by calmness and beauty, and explores in her works the interaction between negative spaces, geometric shapes and bold wireframes. Chan believes that design is a bridge forming a relation and connection between people, and bases her work on finding inspiration in everyday experiences — conversations, objects and places. The team's NRU bowl was created in collaboration with French artisan Philippe Le Bouteiller, founder of Fusion de Lave Studio in Volvic, France.
