Teerapoj Teeropas is design director at Kitt-Ta-Khon, a Bangkok-based studio providing original and customised handwoven furniture and interior finishings with a modern design. An industrial designer with an interest in craftwork, he is guided in his design practice by the goal of postponing the loss of traditional values. With a focus on the incorporation of local wisdom into contemporary industrial design, Teeropas aims to perpetuate the values of traditional knowledge and creation. Believing that handicraft is a valuable world heritage that does not belong to any one group of people, he sees his work as exploring new boundaries and aesthetics in traditional crafts. In this way, he hopes to contribute to diversity of identity and to cultural and artistic resemblance, fusing the heart of craftsmanship to create a set of newly designed products that relay a borderless cultural heritage which can be appreciated by anyone.
