Kapiz Vase by Krete Manila

Based in Marikina City in Metro Manila, Krete is a young and proud Filipino brand that specialises in handmade products made primarily from cement. The founders of the brand, Daniel Ubas and Viktoria Laguyo, started the company in 2016 while they were working in different roles within the design industry. Daniel initially gained experience in the production process, from the initial sketch all the way to the final product, while working at a kiosk production company. He then moved on to freelancing. Viktoria began her career as a Red Box Design Talent collaborating with furniture manufacturers in Cebu under the guidance of Budji Layug. Her works have been showcased at various exhibitions, including Manila FAME, the Salone del Mobile in Milan, and Maison&Objet in Paris. Both Daniel and Viktoria hold degrees in industrial design from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, and it was their passion for Filipino craftsmanship that inspired them to establish a brand that would enable them to showcase their own skills and contribute to the growth of locally made products.
